The pattern is referred to as Pickwick on the plate without the border but numbered on this particular style. The Salem China Company was founded in 1989 in Salem, Ohio by Patrick and John McNichol, Daniel Cronin, and William Smith, all from East Liverpool, Ohio. The company originally produced commercial dinnerware and accessories, but later shifted to household dinnerware, novelty ware, and souvenir plates. In 1918, the company was sold to F.A. Sebring and Floyd W. McKee of Sebring, Ohio.
